Oleum Solutions is an Incorporated Zambian Company venturing in the industrial production of 98% sulphuric acid to supply the mining industry in both Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Our intention is to be the most cost effective and environmentally friendly producers of sulphuric acid to both sustain the environment as well as supply an affordable product. This will in turn reduce the cost of production for our clients and sustain their business. Our mission is to enable our clients to sustain their business by supplying quality affordable sulphuric acid.
Our Product
Oleum Solutions endeavours to consistently produce quality sulphuric of acid at the industrial requirement of 98% strength, using double contact absorption technique which is environmentally friendly. This being a greenfield project, the plant is being designed to maximise efficiency and flexibility to produce at lower than industry average cost to enable our clients in the mining industry to be resilient in times of low metal prices. Our organisation is structured that it will be able to provide a reliable and flexible service and assist our clients to focus on the core business of producing copper and cobalt. Our intention; with our knowledge of the cyclic nature of the metals industry is not only being suppliers of sulphuric acid but long-term business partners to sustain our clients in both the good and bad times. Oleum Solutions will produce 3MW of electricity as a by-product and will use part of it to run the operation with the excess of about 1.8MW supplied into the National Grid. This will allow Oleum Solutions to sustain the operations in times of power disruptions within the grid.
Other products include: Centrifugal Pumps, Chemical Pumps, HDPE Pipes and Lining (Including lining of ponds), Chute Liners, Yellow Fleet Spares and Overhauls (John Deere, CAT, Komatsu)
The Process
The sulphuric acid will be produced using double absorption contact to achieve 99.8% conversion efficiency and attain European Standard gas emissions. The main raw material for the production of the acid is 98% raw sulphur which will me melted to produce the sulphur dioxide gas required for the production of the sulphuric acid. The waste heat generated will be used to generate steam which will be fed to a generator to produce 3 MW of electricity as a by-product.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Oleum Solutions set up operations in Ndola Rural of Masaiti District with a deliberate intention of creating employment to the rural communities. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chiwala Royal Establishment to signify its commitment to CSR in the community. Among other things to be implemented once operations commence are; providing scholarships to the less privileged students to Chiwala Secondary Technical School, enhance security by building a Police Post in the Chiefdom, support out-grower schemes for the local farming community and other community initiatives.
Our Location
The production facilities will be located in Chief Chiwala’s Chiefdom of Masaiti District in Ndola Rural. The location is about 10 kilometres from the Ndola Central Business District and about 6 kilometres from Ndola’s Simon Mwansa International Airport.
